NCLS Delivery Services
The primary goal of the North Country Library System's (NCLS), Delivery Service is to facilitate the efficient and effective interchange of library materials, resources and strategic communications among the North Country, and Central New York libraries.
The NCLS Delivery Department runs eight different delivery routes, five days a week, throughout the four counties we serve within this geographical area. In addition to providing delivery service our personnel assist in sorting and binning all incoming and outgoing material between the 65 member libraries, as well as other libraries systems which connect both North by Northeast and South by Southwest of our system. This interface links the regional library delivery systems together to promote an efficient transfer of library material between other systems statewide. Inclusively, each library receives one delivery per week, with 29 higher volume libraries currently receiving a second delivery per week.
NCLS delivery department travels over a combined 1561-miles per week, covering an area of nearly 6200 square miles! It's a tradition that has been carried out for over 61 years, with many different delivery drivers at the helm. Utilizing the most cost effective methodology, we have all, shared one common goal..., a commitment to providing the best dependable, friendly, and courteous service for all of our member/non-member libraries. |
