How to Change the Address Where Your Library Receives Checks

An open letter to America’s publishers from ALA President

Simon & Schuster, Penguin, and Macmillan are challenged by ALA President, Maureen Sullivan, to cooperate with libraries regarding e-book availability.

According to Ms. Sullivan, half of the titles appearing in any given week's list of NY Times best sellers are unavailable in e-book format due to publishers' refusal to sell e-books to libraries.

New NCLS Catalog-- check it out!

We have been working on a new catalog that will give patrons much better search results. The search engine returns improved lists for searches and does a good job of handling misspellings. Also, patrons will be less dependent on choosing whether the search is a Title, Author, or Subject. Give it a try! Put in a title search without specifying “Title” in the pull-down. Try some common misspellings and see how it does. After you have entered a search, notice the features in the left column that allow you to easily narrow the search.
