Security and Safety @ Your Library

Guest Speaker: Lisa Matte, Director, Jervis Library of Rome, NY

This is a full day workshop that is broken down into two parts.

Lunch will be provided for both workshops.

How it Impacts You @ Your Library
This part of the workshop will create an awareness of safety and security in your library including challenges and/or benefits resulting from physical plant, personnel, patrons/customers, and Mother Nature.  Emphasis will be placed on real world conditions and external cube cognition.

How to Implement Safety and Security Measures @ Your Library
Knowing the challenging situations is likely not the most difficult part of the process.  Addressing them is the challenge.  In the afternoon session, discover resources and strategies to help you create a plan to manage the overwhelming data gathered in creating your awareness by looking at case studies.

Interaction among participants and between participants and presenter is encouraged to make this presentation as relevant as possible to each attendee.  Results from the Security Survey were forwarded and some of those specific security questions may be included in the program but may not be able to address ALL questions due to time constraints.  In addition, Ms. Matte will circulate at least one survey prior to the workshop to better tailor the workshop to meet your needs.  The survey(s) will come from NCLS, so watch for it in early 2013.
